Following the enactment of the Tax Laws Amendment Act 2024, we are pleased to inform you that 20% excise duty will no longer be applicable on loan interest charged by Tala, effective 27th December 2024. This includes interest and late payment fees.
This applies to all new loans disbursed from 27th December 2024, and for existing loans, no excise duty will be charged on interest accrued from 27th December 2024 going forward.
